Diversity, equity, and inclusion, often shortened to DEI, has been in the news a lot lately. The term has become politically charged, even though the concept of DEI at its core is about fairness and justice. Behind the political posturing and demagoguery are genuine challenges that affect people in their everyday lives, including in the realm of health care.
