When I started physical therapy school at Washington University in St. Louis as a bright-eyed 22-year-old, I planned to become a sports physical therapist. I was an avid runner, loved learning about the human body, and the idea of spending my career helping people move better and feel better excited me. In high school, I ran track and loved the way exercise, and particularly running, made me feel. It required minimal equipment (just socks, shoes, and a good sports bra) and gave me the opportunity to be outside, breathe in fresh air, and feel free.
