At the Ohio Senior Olympics, Diane Fleming, PT, DPT, offers the Sustained Athlete Fitness Exam, also known as SAFE, for participants.

Like many young students, I had a hard time deciding what career path I wanted to go toward. Taking career tests and getting results of art appraiser and dictionary editor, I concluded I was the most boring person on the planet! I looked deep into my top interests that I was 100% committed to. In high school, classes that kept my interest, though difficult for me, included anatomy and biology. Activities that excited me were weightlifting, as well as competing on the track and field team throwing the shot put and javelin. Something exercise-based felt right for me and had me considering athletic training or physical therapy as a career choice.
