Eric Ries is the former associate editor of APTA Magazine at APTA. He retired from his position in 2020.

Before joining the association in 2000, he was a writer/editor at the Association for Career and Technical Education. Earlier he held a similar position at Goodwill Industries International, and for several years he was a reporter at daily newspapers in North Carolina and Georgia. He earned his bachelor’s degree in History from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
