First time enrolling in Medicare? Looking to change your participation status? This resource serves as your guide to the two types of Medicare participation offered to physical therapists. The option you pick determines your reimbursement and how much you can charge your patients.

When you enroll in Medicare, you will be required to fill out CMS-460, the Medicare Participating Physician or Supplier Agreement. In the agreement, you must enroll as either a participating provider or a nonparticipating provider. Your choice affects how you will be paid under Medicare Part B for all eligible services under Medicare law and regulations.
