Didi Matthews, PT, DPT, a board-certified clinical specialist in neurologic physical therapy, will deliver the sixth Lynda D. Woodruff Lecture on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Physical Therapy on June 18 at 7 p.m. ET.
Immediately following the lecture, a live panel discussion will feature:
- Dawn S. Brown, PT, DPT, EdD (moderator), serves as the assistant chair of curricular affairs and assistant professor in the Department of Physical Therapy and Human Movement Sciences at Northwestern University. She is a board-certified clinical specialist in orthopaedic physical therapy.
- Kristin Rice, PT, DPT, DHSc, is an assistant professor and admissions coordinator in the Department of Physical Therapy at Hampton University. She holds a doctor of physical therapy degree and a doctor of health science degree, with a concentration in health professional education, from Nova Southeastern University.
- Uchenna Ossai, PT, DPT, serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Utah and is also a faculty member for the University of Michigan School of Social Work’s Sexual Health Certification Program. She is a board-certified women’s health clinical specialist, board-certified pelvic floor physical therapist, and certified sexuality counselor.
- Moyo B. Tillery, PT, DPT, serves as core faculty and director of admissions at Tufts University’s DPT Program. Her clinical background is in adult outpatient orthopedics, specifically in the management of musculoskeletal occupational disorders. She is a board-certified orthopaedic clinical specialist and fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists.

About the Lecturer
Didi Matthews, PT, DPT, is an associate professor of clinical physical therapy at the University of Southern California, Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy, vice chair of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, and director of the Division Institute for Excellence in Teaching. As a board-certified neurologic clinical specialist, she specializes in the treatment of individuals with degenerative diseases and serves as the course director of Clinical Management of Patients With Neurologic Disorders in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program. She is a faculty fellow of the USC Center for Excellence in Teaching and leads initiatives to support teaching excellence by all faculty within the division. In her role as vice chair, she leads the Diversity, Anti-Racism, Inclusion, and Community Engagement Council, which builds sustainable mechanisms, policies, and initiatives to improve equitable practices within the division’s research, educational, and clinical practice programs.
About the Lecture
The Lynda D. Woodruff Lecture is co-sponsored by the Physical Therapy Learning Institute, the American Academy of Physical Therapy, the National Association of Black Physical Therapists, the American Council of Academic Physical Therapy, the APTA Academy of Education, and the American Physical Therapy Association. This lecture is held annually around Juneteenth.
