2024 Guideline for the Primary Prevention of Stroke: A Guideline From the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association
Overview
This clinical practice guideline replaces the 2014 “Guidelines for the Primary Prevention of Stroke” and is intended to provide clinicians with evidence-based recommendations for prevention of stroke for individuals with no history of stroke. Topics include screening for stroke risk factors and management of healthy behaviors and health factors (“Life’s Essential 8”). The guideline includes information about populations at increased risk and highlights the Top 10 Take-Home Messages.
