When the APTA House of Delegates voted in 2025 to adopt a new Code of Ethics for the Physical Therapy Profession, it marked far more than an administrative update. By integrating the former Code of Ethics for Physical Therapists and the Standards of Ethical Conduct for the Physical Therapist Assistant, the profession established a single Code of Ethics, including ethical standards and aspirational commitments, designed to reflect the evolving challenges of modern practice.
