Joseph Black, PhD, former senior vice president of APTA's education division and an APTA honorary member, passed away on Aug. 15 at the age of 88.
Black joined APTA in 1993 as senior vice president of the education division, where he oversaw accreditation, physical therapist and physical therapist assistant education, specialist certification, and professional development programs. In that role, he worked with APTA's Board of Directors, House of Delegates, and components to support educational initiatives serving the association and the profession.
