PTACAS, the physical therapist assistant centralized application service provided by the American Physical Therapy Association, provides students and programs with a platform to more easily facilitate the admissions process.

PTACAS allows physical therapist applicants to use a single web-based application and 1 set of materials to apply to multiple PT programs.

Applicants who apply through PTACAS submit a completed web-based application comprised of biographical data, institutions attended, academic course history, physical therapy observation hours, list of reference providers, work experiences, extracurricular activities, honors, professional licenses, and a personal essay. It is the applicant's responsibility to read and follow all PTACAS and program-specific instructions.

Get Started

The PTACAS application is only one step in the PTA program admissions process. You must meet all PTACAS and program requirements before your application will be reviewed.

Apply early! It can take up to 5 weeks for PTACAS to verify your file, once it is in "complete" status. Each program sets its own application deadlines. Be sure to review deadlines for each program prior to beginning your application preparation.
