Health Professions Accreditors Collaborative
The Health Professions Accreditors Collaborative represents members of the Association of Specialized and Professional Accreditors, including the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education and the American Board of Physical Therapy Residency & Fellowship Education. The Collaborative provides an opportunity for educational program accreditors to ensure standards, policies and procedures support graduates of health profession education programs for interprofessional collaborative practice.

Interprofessional Education Collaborative (Member Organization)
A national coalition that advances interprofessional learning and collaborative practice across the health professions. Participation supports APTA’s engagement in developing shared competencies, resources, and strategies that strengthen team-based education and care.

National Academies of Practice (Co-Sponsor)
An interprofessional meeting that brings together educators, clinicians, and policymakers, offering sessions and networking that faculty can draw on to embed collaborative practice themes in teaching.

Collaborating Across Borders (Co-Sponsor)
A major North American conference dedicated to interprofessional education, practice, and research, where educators gain practical examples of IPE integration, innovative teaching models, and strategies to prepare students for team-based care.

Federation of Associations of Schools of Health Professions (Liaison Member)
A collaborative of health professions education associations that develops shared principles for curriculum and assessment. Educators can use these resources to align physical therapy curricula with broader interprofessional education standards.

National Collaborative for Improving the Clinical Learning Environment (Member)
A national initiative focused on strengthening interprofessional training in clinical settings, where educators can access reports, frameworks, and case examples to enhance student readiness for collaborative practice during clinical education.

NASEM Global Forum on Innovation in Health Professional Education (Member)
A forum of educators, researchers, and professional organizations advancing innovation in health professions education worldwide. The forum hosts two free workshops each year, with proceedings that educators can use to integrate emerging interprofessional education models into PT and PTA programs.

Interprofessional Education and Practice Special Interest Group of the APTA Academy of Education
This special interest group serves as a resource and forum for members of the Academy who value and champion interprofessional education and collaborative practice in all facets of the physical therapy profession. Two key resources that are advancing clarity in interprofessional education and collaborative practice are the National Academies of Practice Lexicon 3.0, which standardizes terminology within the National Academies of Practice, and the InterprofessionalResearch.Global Proposed Lexicon for the Interprofessional Field, which seeks to establish global consensus definitions across the interprofessional field.
