Overview

This updated guideline provides an evidenced-based and patient-centered approach to management of patients with chronic coronary disease.

Section 4.1: General approach to treatment decisions (pp e23-e29) provides strong recommendations related to annual checkup, patient education, social determinants of health, team-based approach, and shared decision-making.

Section 4.2: Guideline-directed management and therapy (pp e29-e50) provides moderate to strong recommendations related to nutrition, mental health, cardiac rehabilitation, physical activity, and more.

This document was approved by the American College of Cardiology Clinical Policy Approval Committee and the American Heart Association Science Advisory and Coordinating Committee in January 2023, and the American College of Cardiology Science and Quality Committee and the American Heart Association Executive Committee in April 2023.
