Overview

This guideline by the American College of Chest Physicians aims to guide providers involved in the respiratory care of patients with neuromuscular disease (NMDs) with the understanding that variations in the patterns of respiratory muscle involvement and timing of clinical presentation and progression of NMDs occur that require an understanding of the patient’s underlying disease process before using the recommendations.
