For me, the path to physical therapy has been intertwined with opportunities to serve and has allowed me to grow within myself and this community. I have found that we are not simply placed on this Earth to see how important we can become, but to make a difference in the lives of others. Having the opportunity to reach the underserved minority community of Miami-Dade County to provide free physical therapist services at our LAGO pro bono clinic has been the most rewarding and humbling experience for me. It has allowed me to step from the receiving end of medical services to the provider role and to witness firsthand the impact our profession has on those who need it most. As a recipient of this award I feel honored, valued, and encouraged to continue following my passion in service. In times when the sky seems to be falling, this award further encourages me to continue to serve and find ways to bring our community
