APTA contracted with SMS Research, a subsidiary of Padilla/CRT, in late 2021 to conduct omnibus qualitative and quantitative research to learn about consumers’ perceptions of physical therapists and physical therapist services. This report compares key findings from 2016 and 2021, and is part of an ongoing information-gathering strategy that informs APTA’s work to advance public awareness, advocate for the profession, and educate members.
