Billie Jean King Serves Up Winning Keynote Address

"You're very special people. I hope you know it."

That was the message tennis legend Billie Jean King delivered to a rapt audience during NEXT's opening event Wednesday night. Her keynote address—a talk show-style conversation with APTA Chief Financial Officer Rob Batarla, MBA, CPA, CAE—emphasized the importance of PTs in her own career and life, as well as to the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), the organization she helped form in 1973.
