Roles of PTs in Youth-to-Adult Health Care Transitions

The number of youth with special health care needs entering adult health care systems is growing; an estimated 750,000 annually transition from pediatric to adult health care. This suggests a need to assist this population to effectively access health care services. Physical therapists, particularly those in pediatrics, are ideally positioned for this task.
