A report outlining a shared vision for excellence in physical therapy education has been endorsed by the boards of APTA, the American Council of Academic Physical Therapy, and the APTA Academy of Education, and is now available as an Open Access supplement of the Journal of Physical Therapy Education.

The report, “A Vision for Excellence in Physical Therapy Education,” is the result of work by the Education Leadership Partnership, which over the past several years committed to developing a comprehensive strategy for continuing physical therapy education’s evolution.

Established in 2016, the Education Leadership Partnership includes representatives from APTA, the APTA Academy of Education, and the American Council of Academic Physical Therapy. The partnership is intended to be a group with a more global perspective than that of any one organization represented or any other stakeholder. The voting members of the partnership are committed to pursuing the interests of the whole profession as well as those of the organization presidents who appointed them. Nonvoting members likewise are committed to pursuing the interests of the whole profession as well as those of the organization with which they are associated.
