Single-Limb Hop – Achilles Tendinitis
What it measures:
Single-limb hopping is part of a test battery comprised of tests for different aspects of muscle-tendon function (maximal strength, power, and endurance) of the gastrocnemius, soleus, and Achilles tendon complex (Silbernagel et al, 2006 and 2007). The test battery consisted of 6 tests: 1.Counter movement jump (CMJ) 2. Drop CMJ 3. Single-limb hopping 4. Concentric toe raise 5. Eccentric–concentric toe raise 6. Standing toe-raise test. The test battery has been shown to be reliable and valid for examination of lower leg function in patients with Achilles tendinopathy. (Silbernagel et al, 2006 and 2007)
