What You Should Know for 2020
On November 1, 2019, the final 2020 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) was released by the US Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The final fee schedule includes application of the 2 new therapy modifiers (CQ and CO) that identify outpatient therapy services furnished in whole or in part by physical therapist assistants or occupational therapy assistants beginning January 1, 2020; the updated therapy KX modifier threshold for 2020; final values for the new trigger point dry needling codes; and more. The rule also contains updates to the Quality Payment Program. (Review more information on MIPS).
