That's just what it is—an act. There's a better way.

We hear a lot about "life balance" these days. As a physical therapist (PT) or physical therapist assistant (PTA) who's providing or perhaps planning to offer wellness services, it's a lifestyle term you're likely to hear directly from clients. But does it really exist? Should it even be a goal in the first place?

You might recall that I touched on a related concept in a Well To Do column last year. (Go to www.apta.org/PTinMotion/205/3/WellToDo/.) In that piece, I described aspects of life that I call the "F5"—for Family/Friends, Fuel/Fitness, Field of Play (work and lobbies), Faith (in a higher power or another source of inner strength), and Finances.
