APTA is actively working with congressional leaders to address reports of remaining TRICARE payment and operational issues impacting physical therapy providers. These issues, which emerged at the start of 2025 when TriWest Healthcare Alliance took over as the Managed Care Support Contractor under the new TRICARE contract and the West region took on seven additional states, have been particularly challenging in the TRICARE Western region.
