APTA CSM Accessibility and Wellness
APTA is committed to making the APTA Combined Sections Meeting accessible to all.
Anyone requiring accommodations due to a disability is asked to check the ADA box when registering for the conference and/or reserving housing and note their requirements. Specific requests also can be made directly by email or phone (703-706-8510).
Event Locations
Programming and activities will occur at two locations: San Diego Convention Center (111 W Harbor Dr, San Diego, CA 92101) and Hilton San Diego Bayfront (1 Park Blvd, San Diego, CA 92101).
Accessibility
Hotel Reservations for Accessible Rooms
The headquarters hotel is the Hilton San Diego Bayfront. To request an accessible room, or to make any other special requests for your stay, please contact an MCI representative as soon as possible:
- Online: Visit the Housing and Travel page with your Reservation ID to modify your reservation and to make ADA requests 24 hours a day.
- Phone: Call APTA’s Housing Center at 800-212-6817. If outside the USA/Canada: (972) 349-5849. The APTA Housing Center is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT.
Overflow housing will be made available as needed.
Accessibility in Program Rooms
Wheelchair accessible space will be available in all education sessions rooms in the Convention Center and the Hilton Bayfront.
Accessibility at Hilton San Diego Bayfront
Entrances and Exits: The Hilton San Diego Bayfront main entrance is located at 1 Park Blvd, San Diego, CA 92101, and is accessible for all patrons.
Parking Lots: Accessible valet parking is available at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront and rates include in/out privileges. Daily self- and overnight parking for hotel guests is $40, plus taxes. Valet Parking for overnight hotel guests is $65 daily, plus taxes.
Accessibility at the San Diego Convention Center
Entrances and Exits: The San Diego Convention Center main entrance, located at 111 W Harbor Dr, San Diego, CA 92101, is accessible for all patrons.
Parking Lots: Accessible valet parking is available at the San Diego Convention Center and rates include unlimited in/out privileges. Valet parking fee for overnight hotel guests is $49 daily, plus taxes. There are 31 ADA compliant parking stalls with elevator access to the Convention Center. Self-parking is offered at this location at a variable rate. On the corner of Harbor Dr. and Park Ave., there is a 2,000-space parking lot adjacent to the Hilton Bayfront.
Disability Parking
Disabled persons license plates and placards from any state will be honored in California, provided the placard/plate is valid. If you need a Disability Parking placard, please apply in advance through your state’s DMV office.
Taxicabs
The Americans with Disabilities Act requires all ground transportation companies provide accessible vehicles. It is recommended that individuals requiring this service make arrangements in advance with their chosen service provider. To order an accessible taxi, call Yellow Cab for the San Diego area, 24-hours-a-day, 7 days a week, at (619) 444-4444, for more information visit: driveu.com. On demand ADA accessible vehicles are available. Arrangements and payments for such transportation are the responsibility of the attendee.
Mobility Constraints
Due to the size of the San Diego Convention Center and Hilton Bayfront, the distance between sessions can be considerable. If you are a regular wheelchair user, you should bring your chair. For those attendees that do not bring their own wheelchair or have mobility needs that may require assistance, please make arrangements prior to arriving onsite, as the San Diego Convention Center is not able to provide wheelchairs. If you require assistance, consider making arrangements to rent an electronic scooter.

All arrangements are the attendees’ responsibility. Cloud of Goods is able to deliver to the convention center or your hotel 24 hours in advance (not the day of arrival).

- Heavy Duty Mobility Scooter Rental: $165 when rented for 5 days. Please note that prices are subject to change.
First Aid
A first aid station will be located outside the exhibit hall.

The San Diego Convention Center has two locations for nursing:
- Option 1: Lobby near Registration.
- Option 2: Room # 21.
The Hilton San Diego Bayfront has one location for nursing:
- Sapphire Boardroom
