APTA CSM: Claiming Your CEUs
CEUs for the In-Person Conference
Attendance at APTA CSM 2022 may be worth up to 1.8 CEUs (18 contact hours/CCUs). The number of CEUs/contact hours/CCUs for each educational session will be listed in the mobile app. Review the information below for state-specific information.
APTA provides a badge scanning electronic system to verify attendance in educational sessions. Please have your badge scanned upon entrance to each session. If you change sessions, the last session scanned during a given time block will be the only one recorded for that time block. Attending educational sessions is required to earn CEUs.
Your session transcript and CEU certificate will be available in the APTA Learning Center at https://learningcenter.apta.org/ through the year 2023. Select My Training to locate your course and download your certificate and session transcript.
CEUs will be available within six weeks of the conference.
Preconference Course Certificates (In-Person Conference Only)
Preconference CEU certificates are accessible in the APTA Learning Center. To earn CEUs for the preconference courses, participants must pass a multiple-choice assessment with a score of 70% or better. The preconference assessment can be accessed at the conclusion of the course in the APTA Learning Center.
The number of CEUs for each preconference session is listed in the online programming descriptions.
To access your assessment and certificate, follow these easy steps:
- Go to APTA's Learning Center and log in. Enter your email, member number, or user ID. If you need to reset your password contact Member Success at 800-999-2782, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m. ET, or email email@example.com.
- Choose My Training in the top navigation menu and find your preconference course.
- Click Start next to the course title. Follow the directions to take the assessment and print your CEU certificate. Download and save a copy in a secure location for the future.
CEUs for On-Demand
An On Demand option will be available March 1-31, with more than 100 recorded educational sessions from the in-person event curated by conference program chairs from each section.
Attendees of the in-person event receive complimenatary access to the on-demand content but cannot attain additional CEUs (beyond what was gained at the in-person conference) via the on-demand programming.
Those who register for the on-demand experience can earn up to 1.8 CEUs (18 contact hours), expanded on Jan. 21 from the original 1.2 CEUs (12 contact hours) due to the state of the pandemic, or can register at a reduced rate to access the content without the ability to gain CEUs.
On-demand registrants will need to sucessfully complete a post-test for each session to gain CEUs. Registrants are responsible for knowing their state's rules related to online learning.
For assistance with your login and password or with printing your CEU certificate, contact Member Success at 800-999-2782, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m. ET, or email firstname.lastname@example.org. For corrections to your session transcript, contact APTA Learning Center at email@example.com.
Approval and CEU/Contact Hour Information
APTA courses are accepted in most states plus the District of Columbia, as allowed by the type of course requirements in state regulations. A small number of states require APTA to seek preapproval of courses. APTA seeks these approvals and lists any relevant approval codes on the certificate of completion.
Note: CEU/contact hour numerical information is provided for informational purposes only. Each state has its own rules and regulations regarding how to calculate your licensure requirements for continuing education or continuing competence. Certain APTA courses may not receive the same credit for the CEU/contact hours listed, and you must check your state’s specific rules. Please contact your state regulatory entity for specific questions.
Colorado licensees: APTA conference CEUs/contact hours (except preconference courses) are categorized under Category II for Professional Development Activities. As such, one contact hour equals one-half point. Please see the information provided by the State Physical Therapy Board on Continuing Professional Competency.
Pennsylvania licensees: View the number of direct access hours that may be applied to each educational session and preconference course.
