The Credentialed Clinical Instructor Program is intended for health care providers who work primarily in a clinical setting and are interested in developing their teaching abilities.
By participating in Credential Clinical Instructor Program Level 1 and advancing through Clinical Instructor Program Level 2, participants explore different aspects of the clinical learning environment and learn skills and techniques necessary to provide a structured and effective learning environment for students.
You can also sponsor a course in your facility.
CCIP courses are taught throughout the year in Canada and the United States. Enrollment is open to physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, and clinicians from other health care professions. In addition to PTs and PTAs, courses often include speech therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and more.
Successful completion of the Level 1 course provides physical therapists and physical therapist assistants with 1.6 CEU's* and the Clinical Instructor Credential. Health care providers from other professions are eligible to receive 1.2 CEU's,* but are not awarded the Clinical Instructor Credential. Successful completion of the Level 2 course provides physical therapists and physical therapist assistants with 1.7 CEU’s* and the Level 2 Clinical Instructor Credential. Health care providers from other professions are eligible to receive 1.3 CEU’s,* but are not awarded the Level 2 Clinical Instructor Credential.
*Note: Licensees should verify with their state licensing board for acceptance of CEUs by reviewing the relevant state practice act and/or administrative code.
